[Good Bite]...Piccolo Italian Market and Deli Opens New Digs

If you ever need to find a great, affordable lunch spot, just follow the nearest police car at around noon (at a polite distance, of course) and you're sure to end up some place tasty. We got to the new location of Piccolo Italian Market and Deli through less clandestine means (we were in the neighborhood), but were pleased to note that several cops were taking their lunch inside. Piccolo is our go-to place for Italian subs that bleed through their wax paper, edible torpedoes over a foot long that don't scrimp on meats. Fresh sliced Italian deli meat like capicollo and sopresata give the sandwiches intense flavor, and choice cheese puts the screws to processed alternatives. But it was the cash register impulse buy that really captured our attention. Just in time for the holidays, Piccolo is also now selling whole, raw chestnuts, just waiting to be roasted over an open fire some cold night soon.
